This is my second post, so don't forget to read my first one below! I wanted to use this as an official place to talk about/set up a little reunion for us! I know we have work schedules, school schedules, reproductive schedules, spouses, newborn babies, and toddlers to contend with, so let's all give our two cents in terms of what would work best. The two things we need to discuss are dates and locations! People have given several suggestions, but my favorite one it to do it right, Maine style! This would work well for many of us in terms of proximity to family, etc. plus it would be a TRUE Bates reunion back where it all began! I am *very* open to any and all suggestions and to be honest I'll make it wherever, whenever because I really want this to happen!
Please reply to this post and let us all know your ideas in terms of location (if we do it in Maine, where/how should we do it? Sara, I know you guys have rented cottages on lakes in the past - do you think that would be a good option?) and timing (especially Christina and Laura because of newborns). Let's all chime in! I'm open in terms of timing since we're not planning on baby #2 just yet... if our reunion is TOO far away I might run in to some problems, but for now I'm wide open! :-)

I LOVE THIS BLOG!!! What a great idea! I was just thinking that I wish everyone had blogs for me to know what is going on in their lives. As for me, I am totally game for a Maine reunion. Right now my current plan is to be on the east coast for a good 3-4 weeks during the summer. I won't have an idea of exact dates until early next year. I will totally be adding to this blog and I hope everyone does as well! Miss everyone!
Okay, I'm a little biased in voting for Maine as our reunion place, because we'll be living there in a few more months! So at least that's one less person's schedule we'll need to work around, since traveling won't be a factor for me.

Let's plan on summer 2009! That's not too late for me... I think it's realistic to plan that far in advance. I really want to pick location and dates. L, is there a month you are most likely to be back east? For example, if we planned on July do you think you could be there?
As of now I am thinking August 2009 since Ethan's preschool has a 2 week vacation that month and that is when my parents typically take their vacation. Will know more as it gets closer, lots will happen for all of us between now and then for sure!
We always go to Maine in August so that would work. I'm assuming we'll be there in early August that year b/c (GULP) Jake will start kindergartin that year and school starts in August.

Summer 2009 - sounds like a great idea to me. It feels like a long time from now, but it will be here before we all know it. As of right now I'm done the baby business - I think two is going to be my limit - hee hee ----- but ask me again in about six months, and maybe my answer will be different - as you all playfully like to remind me, I was never having kids to begin with. :)
Anyway, my point is that I should be good to travel. I'm also biased towards a Maine visit, since I can also work it into a family visit. But if you tell me we're meeting in Iowa I'll still be there. :)
